New York City

For me, a native New Yorker born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the parks, brownstones, streets, statuary and fountains that comprised my childhood environment have always been a great source of inspiration. The older architecture seems to hold long buried secrets, the aged facades enclosing unknown mysteries within. New York City is my greatest subject; it’s jumbled surfaces, textured masonry, richness of ornament, ubiquitous signage and eroding cobblestones possess a melancholy beauty I have attempted to capture in my watercolors.
